Dr. Yesenia (Yesi) Prados is a proud graduate from NSU COP in 2014 with extensive experience as a clinical pharmacist/certified immunizer, thorough knowledge of computerized drug-distribution systems, drug-utilization evaluation, complex equipment and delivery systems, emerging medications, inventory management and regulations governing pharmacy services. She has served as an effective liaison between the healthcare team and the community since graduation to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes. Prior to starting pharmacy school she worked within the managed care field with Fortune 500 companies, such as Humana and Molina. Dr. Prados joined the Department of Pharmacy Practice and NSU’s ACORN-SEED (ACO Research Network, Services, and Education) group as an MTM Pharmacist shortly 2 years after graduating. The department is working extensively with local accountable care organizations in the area. Dr. Prados is overseeing a number of work-study students, planning experiential students in the development of an MTM Call Center, identifying areas of growth and opportunity, and providing clinical pharmacy (ie MTM) services for billing opportunities. She is working closely with the ACORN-SEED faculty (Dr. Gernant, Dr. Hale, Dr. Jones and Dr. Joseph) and Dr. Goar Alvarez’s clinic pharmacy team. She is also working closely with an increasing number of community (ie retail) pharmacies in the area, developing community pharmacy residencies and new opportunities for partnerships.
