Dr. Jane McLaughlin-Middlekauff is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. McLaughlin-Middlekauff earned her Pharm.D. degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. McLaughlin-Middlekauff joined NSU COP in September of 2009. Her current practice site is at NSU Clinic Pharmacy. Dr. McLaughlin-Middlekauff’s research interests include ambulatory care, health literacy and public health.
Dr. McLaughlin-Middlekauff’s previous pharmacy practice experience includes being inpatient pharmacy manager and Anticoagulation Clinic Director at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. She had been an active duty United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Officer working for the Indian Health Service (IHS) in Anchorage, Alaska. During her six years at Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), she provided pharmacy services and education to Alaska Native and American Indian patients in the areas of pediatrics, family medicine and anticoagulation.
Dr. McLaughlin-Middlekauff has received the following awards: United States Air Force Academy 10th Medical Group 2002 Clinical Pharmacist of the Year Award; Alaska Pharmacist Association 2004 Innovative Pharmacist of the Year Award for her work on creating and teaching an online pharmacy practice courses across Alaska, Yap, and American Samoa for University Alaska Anchorage (UAA); Alaska Pharmacist Association 2006 Young Distinguished Pharmacist of the Year Award; member of the Telepharmacy Program at ANMC presented the 2006 American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) Award “Excellence in Medication Use Safety”; Living Our Values Award in 2007 awarded by Southcentral Foundation (SCF) at Alaska Native Medical Center; and Aurora Borealis Branch Public Health Officer of the Year 2008. |
