Dr. Yadollah Omidi joined Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in August 2020 to work as a full professor of pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Omidi obtained his Ph.D. degree in the field of brain drug delivery and targeting from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, in 2003 and his Pharm.D. degree from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUOMS), Iran, in 1991. He has completed a postdoctoral research associate program, studying gene-based nanomedicines and toxicogenomics at Cardiff University School of Pharmacy. As a professor of drug delivery and targeting, Dr. Omidi has several years of experience in teaching different subjects of pharmaceutical sciences and supervising Pharm.D., M.Sc., Ph.D., and M.D. students. He acted as the founding director of the TUOMS Research Center for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Bioimpacts, and also serves on the editorial board of several international journals, including Nanomedicine, Biologicals, DARU Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Omidi is a collaborator of several scientists from the U.S., and Europe. In 2011, he joined the Ovarian Cancer Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania (United States) as a visiting associate professor to undertake translational research towards the development of multifunctional nanomedicines and theranostics for targeted therapy of ovarian cancer with a particular focus on drug targeting of the tumor microenvironment. Dr. Omidi's research interests are focused on different areas of pharmaceutical sciences, including drug delivery and targeting, multifunctional nanomedicines and theranostics, biological membranes and barriers, vaccines and immunotherapeutics, nanobiomaterials for cell/tissue engineering, and diagnostic nanobiosystems. Since 2003, Dr. Omidi has published over 350 papers in peer-reviewed international journals. He is also the author of 30 book chapters and the recipient of several teaching and research awards. Listed among the top 1% of scientists worldwide by the ESI-WoS, he has an h-index of 68 and an i10-index of 271 with over 16150 citations.
